Sometimes, you just wish certain people would remove themselves to some far off place away from the rest of us. Such a case is this.
On April 22nd a man was given a dog by their friend. The dog stepped in dog crap, so he didn’t want to put the dog in the car. Instead the driver tied it to the bumper and put it in the trunk. Fearing that the dog might suffocate the driver left the trunk open –apparently he wasn’t evil, just stupid. Sadly, the dog jumped out and was dragged to death on the freeway.
Here is the video that caused an outpour of anger by Korean netizens. I warn you, it is not a pretty sight

The police investigated and cleared the driver of malfeasance saying there was no criminal intent. While manslaughter is against the law, the negligent killing of a dog, apparently, is not.
Singer and animal rights activist Lee Hyori joined protesters and angrily lashed out at the driver on Twitter. In a bizarre twist, the driver, now cleared of charges is threatening to sue Lee Hyori for “defamation of character.”
And when it seemed to be settling into a spot on the back burner and hopefully stricter legislation, this past Monday in Busan, another gem of human evolution steps up to the plate to take a crack at utter stupidity and hits a grand slam.
Another dog is tied to the bumper and dragged around town.

Police are currently investigating.
Koreabang, a great website that translates Korean netizen comments, had one in particular that might indicate what will happen to idiot dog-dragger number two who, judging by the photo, must have SURELY seen the dog in the side view mirror.

Hopefully not as long as those poor dogs did tied to the back of their owner’s cars.

as a child- adolescent, growing up in snowy manitoba, i used to bumpershine the busses on major city streets. now as a grown adult, and having knowledge of darwin, , and 40 year history of learning from stupid mistakes. i see the silly error of my ways. and a potential candidacy for the darwin awards.
living in a muslim nation, with a predetermined mindset toward the canine species, i see many a stray wander around, wondering if they will live a full life, and occasionally, see the sad evidence that many of these four legged pals do not indeed live long due to dumb luck, and jackass fuckups with licenses.
as a dog owner, and general animal fan, except snakes (illogical i know, but they are creepy), i cherish every day with my fine furry friend, even in his old age, his one eyed blindness et al. the only thing further to say about these afore mentioned jackass fuckups of a different gene pool is, let the punishment fit the crime.

What happened to your post at the Marmot’s Hole? Is the Man keeping you down?
No… turns out someone had already posted about the first one and then commented on the second one in that same post. I didn’t want to stir the vicious masses in the comment section so I pulled it myself.
Apparently the dog owner needs to from point A to point B (300 meters away) on a daily basis and the dog refuses to get into the car – and so it seems this is the way he gets there and takes the dog so they can spend the entire day together. This case was investigated and EVERYONE interviewed said that the owner absolutely loves his dog, so much so that he takes him to work with him every day because he does not want the dog to suffer home alone. Because the distance is so near, the neighbors all know this grandfather and his companion. The way the news reeled the story it made everyone seem horrid. The real story was nothing what we see. Oh, and it was noted that he drives with caution at a very slow pace, another thing that was not portrayed in the video clip. What I love about Korea is that everyone watches what everyone is doing and if they don’t like it they call it in – I hope this can explain the rest of the story.
